Jamshedpur/Ranchi/Kolkata, July 30 (Press ki taquat bureau): The Howrah-Mumbai Mail experienced a devastating accident in Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharsawan district, resulting in the derailment of at least 18 coaches. This tragic incident led to the loss of two lives and left 20 individuals injured. The derailment occurred at approximately 3:45 AM near Barabamboo, which is situated around 80 kilometers from Jamshedpur, under the Chakradharpur Division of the South Eastern Railway (SER). According to SER spokesperson Om Prakash Charan, there was also a separate derailment involving a goods train in close proximity, although it remains unclear whether the two accidents happened simultaneously. DC West Singhbhum Kuldeep Chaudhary, who is currently stationed at the accident site, informed PTI that rescue operations are underway, with the deployment of an NDRF team to the location.
