On February 10 (press ki taquat bureau):
The BCCI officially announced that Virat Kohli, the star batter, will not be participating in the rest of the Test series against England due to personal reasons. This confirmation puts an end to the speculation surrounding his availability for the highly anticipated contest. Earlier, on February 3, PTI had reported that Kohli might not be able to play in the remaining three matches, after already missing the first two Tests.
The contingency plan was prepared by the selection committee, knowing that Virat would not be available for the series. The BCCI wants Virat to prioritize his family commitments and return when he feels mentally prepared. KL Rahul is in good health, while Jadeja is recovering. The national selection committee has chosen Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul for the squad, but their participation is dependent on clearance from the BCCI’s medical team. Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury during the first Test, while Rahul had a minor quadricep issue. Both players performed well in Hyderabad, with Jadeja scoring 87 and Rahul scoring 86.
