Chandigarh, January 1 (Press Ki Taquat News Bureau) : On the eve of the New Year 2021, three new Directors joined in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab. Director Health and Family Welfare, Punjab. Dr. Gurinder Bir Singh, Director Health Services (Family Welfare) Dr. Andesh Kang and Director Health Services (ESI) Dr. Om Prakash Gojra joined on their respective posts. On this occasion all the staff of the head office welcomed the newly appointed directors and assured them of full cooperation in the functioning of the department.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. G.B. Singh started his government service as a Medical Officer in the Health Department in 1988 and in 2013 promoted as an SMO. In February 2020, after promotion he joined as Civil Surgeon, Barnala. He was presently serving as Civil Surgeon in District Mohali before assuming the post of Director. Besides this, Dr. GB Singh, a Public Health Specialist, has worked with WHO and undergone trainings in USA and France.
After assuming the charge, Dr. Gurinder Bir Singh directed all the employees and officers to perform their duties diligently.
Dr. Andesh Kang gynaecologist also started her government service in 1988 as a medical officer and worked as gynaecologist in Mohali , Fatehgarh Sahib and Ropar. In 2013 promoted as an SMO . She served as Smo I/C SDH Kharar, smo I/c civil hospital Mohali., designated officer ( food) district ludhiana before being promoted as Civil Surgeon Moga in 2020 and was currently serving as State Nodal Officer Food and Safety Department. She has vast and diversified experience.
Similarly, Director Health Services (ESI) Dr. Om Prakash Gojra started his career in the government service in 1988 as a Medical Officer. After promotion to the post of Civil Surgeon in the year 2020, he was appointed as the Principal of the State Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Mohali. On this occasion the three newly appointed directors thanked all the staff for their warm welcome.
