Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said Sikh Gurus taught Indians to live for the pride of their country and acted as an inspiration to make the country better and developed. Speaking at the ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ event to commemorate the martyrdom of two younger Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh, Modi said today’s India is coming out of the “slavery mindset” and today’s India is proud of its people, its capabilities and its heritage. ’’
“Unless we respected our heritage, the world has also respected us,” he said.
