New Delhi, March 27 (press ki taquat bureau): On Wednesday, India summoned a high-ranking US diplomat to express its strong objection to comments made by a US state department official regarding the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The Ministry of External Affairs called upon Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Gloria Berbena for a meeting that lasted over 30 minutes. The US official had reportedly stated that Washington supported a fair, transparent, and timely legal process for Chief Minister Kejriwal.
Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money-laundering case related to the excise policy ‘scam’. The case involves allegations of corruption and money-laundering in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22, which was subsequently canceled.
