(Press Ki Taquat Bureau):
In a significant development in the investigation surrounding the Anantnag Government Medical College, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized an assault rifle and approximately 350 kilograms of explosives in Faridabad, Haryana, according to sources. This operation was reportedly prompted by information provided by a second doctor who has been detained in connection with the case. Previously, an AK-47 rifle was discovered in the locker of Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather at the Anantnag medical facility. Following Rather’s arrest, authorities apprehended another doctor, intensifying the scrutiny on medical professionals linked to potential terrorist activities. Investigators suspect that three doctors may have affiliations with terrorist organizations, with two already in custody from Anantnag and Pulwama, while a third remains at large, prompting ongoing search efforts. Officials are exploring possible connections to the Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind terror group, and the investigation continues to unfold as authorities seek to uncover the full extent of these links.
– The police have confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed in relation to the recent recovery, which includes allegations under sections 7 and 25 of the Arms Act, as well as sections 13, 28, 38, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The investigation is being carried out by the Srinagar Police in collaboration with the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC) of Anantnag.

– Dr. Rather is currently in custody as part of the ongoing investigation, with authorities ensuring that all legal protocols are adhered to during this process. However, specific information regarding the source of the rifle and its presence in the doctor’s locker has not yet been disclosed.

– The investigation remains active, with law enforcement officials diligently pursuing any potential connections or leads related to the case. The police have indicated that they are in possession of an AK-47, which is currently held by the Srinagar police, as they continue to explore the circumstances surrounding this incident.
