Sonepat, May 28 (Press ki taquat bureau): 49 individuals were injured in a significant fire that occurred in a rubber fan-belt manufacturing factory located in the industrial area this evening. The fire, which broke out around 5 pm, quickly spread throughout the factory, causing chaos and panic among the workers. It was discovered that drums containing certain chemicals caught fire and exploded, resulting in severe injuries to those in close proximity. The injured individuals were promptly taken to nearby private hospitals and the Government Hospital in Sonepat for immediate medical attention. Out of the injured, three patients were referred to the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, while 26 critically injured individuals were referred to the PGIMS in Rohtak. Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar, along with SDM Amit Kumar, ADFO Rajender Dahiya, and other officials, visited the site to assess the situation and ensure necessary measures were being taken. The fire station, located just 200 meters away from the factory, responded swiftly and managed to control the flames. Unfortunately, a few individuals suffered serious burns when their clothes caught fire while attempting to escape. The Civil Surgeon, Dr. JaiKishor, immediately mobilized all available medical staff to provide immediate treatment to the injured. Currently, 18 patients are receiving treatment at a nearby private hospital, while others have been referred to different medical facilities based on the severity of their injuries. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures in industrial areas to prevent such unfortunate incidents from occurring in the future.
