Thane, August 21 (Press ki taquat bureau): Following a significant demonstration in Badlapur, located in Maharashtra’s Thane district, regarding the purported sexual assault of two kindergarten girls, local authorities implemented a suspension of internet services, and the majority of educational institutions remained closed on Wednesday, as reported by officials. The protest, which escalated on Tuesday, resulted in injuries to at least 17 city police officers and eight railway personnel due to incidents of stone-throwing at the railway station and various locations throughout Badlapur. In response to the unrest, law enforcement has apprehended 72 individuals linked to the violent occurrences. Officials have indicated that an increased police presence has been established in the area to ensure public safety and restore order, with the situation gradually returning to normalcy. The town of Badlapur experienced a near-total shutdown on Tuesday, as thousands of demonstrators obstructed railway tracks at the station and invaded a local school building, following allegations that a school sweeper had sexually assaulted the two girls in a restroom the previous week.
