Aakash Chopra expressed his concern over the lackluster performance of India’s batting in the second test, describing it as “low spirited”.

India's batting strategy on the third day of the match raised doubts as it provided an opportunity for England's skilled batsmen to pursue a remarkable but attainable target of 399 runs in the second Test.

FEBRUARY 5,2024 (press ki taquat bureau):

India’s batting performance on Day 3 of the second Test against England in Visakhapatnam was disappointing, according to former India batter Aakash Chopra. Despite setting a target of 399 runs for England, India could only manage to score 255 runs in their second innings. Chopra expressed his disappointment, stating that the batting seemed low-spirited and lacked the necessary determination. He highlighted the individual scores of Yashasvi Jaiswal (17), Rohit Sharma (13), Shreyas Iyer (29), Rajat Patidar (9), and Srikar Bharat (6) to emphasize the underwhelming contributions from the Indian players. Chopra also mentioned that while Axar Patel did score runs in the middle, the overall performance of the team was ordinary. He expressed concern over India’s inability to seize the advantage in the Test series, as they have failed to capitalize on opportunities in all four innings so far. India’s questionable batting approach allowed England’s bowlers to have a chance at achieving the 399-run target in the second Test, giving their opponents an opportunity to come back into the game. England ended the day at 67 for one, with Zak Crawley (29) and night watchman Rehan Ahmed (9) at the crease, still needing 332 runs for victory. Despite the unusual behavior of the ball, it appears that there are no supernatural forces affecting the pitch. England, confident in their abilities, will be relying on themselves to successfully chase down the target and secure a 2-0 series lead.
