HEALTH MINISTER LENDS SYMPATHETIC EAR TO GRIEVANCES OF EMPLOYEES
RESOLUTION OF EMPLOYEES’ GRIEVANCES IS TOP PRIORITY OF CM MANN LED GOVT: DR BALBIR SINGH

In order to make Punjab Government a model employer as desired by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Health Department is all set to advertise new vacancies in the Health Department to generate more employment avenues for the youth of the state, said Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh on Tuesday.
The Health Minister was chairing a meeting with employees’ unions of the health department to better understand their grievances, at the Directorate Office of Management Health Department. Director Health and Family Welfare Dr Adarshpal Kaur, Director Health Services (FW) Dr Ravinder Pal Kaur and Director ESI Dr Seema also attended the meeting.
However, previous governments have failed to address the genuine demands of the employees which have led to wider unrest amongst them, said the Health Minister, while adding that he is holding meetings with employees’ unions to better understand their grievances, so that those can be resolved in a time bound manner.
CM Bhagwant Mann led Punjab government is committed to fulfil the genuine demands of the employees, he added.
Asking the employees to work more diligently so that the general public do not face any inconvenience in availing health services, he also appealed to them not to resort to any agitations to get their demands fulfilled as the government is actively working to resolve all issues relating to employees. “Moreover the general public is at the receiving end due to the use of such pressure tactics,” he added.
In this meeting representatives of Pharmacy Officers Association, Multipurpose Health Employees Union, Contract Staff Nurses Union, Ophthalmic Officers Union, ANM Union, Steno Typist Union, Statistical Assistant union,Ward Attendants Union, MLT Union, PHSC Engineers Union,Covid Warriors Union, Rajindra Medical College Outsourced Employees Union were also present.
Meanwhile, the union leaders expressed satisfaction over the initiative of the Health Minister that he himself called the employees’ unions and lent a sympathetic ear to their grievances.
