The Punjab government has declared a public holiday on Thursday, May 1. On the occasion of Labor Day, the state government has declared a holiday on the first day of May. On this day, all schools, colleges and offices in Punjab will remain closed. While there are only two gazetted holidays this month. One is at the beginning and the other is at the end of the month i.e. on May 30, a holiday has been declared on this day as the martyrdom day of Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji.
