Sainik schools will be opened in other districts of Haryana in PPP mode – Manohar Lal
Announcement of grant of 10 crores to Kunjpura Sainik School
Chandigarh, October 17 (Press Ki Taquat)- Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal said that military schools will be opened in PPP mode in other districts of Haryana as well. This will increase the participation of the youth of Haryana in the army and a large number of fire fighters will be prepared. He announced a grant of Rs 10 crore for infrastructure to Sainik School in Kunjpura.
The Chief Minister was speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of Akhil Bharatiya Sainik School National Games-2023 organized at Sainik School, Kunjpura in Karnal today.
The Chief Minister said that for the first time in Haryana, Akhil Bharatiya Sainik School National Sports Competitions have been organized. It is a matter of pride. With the organization of this competition, many of the participating players will get the opportunity to be selected for national and international competitions. He said that 650 players from different military schools of the country participated in the various competitions organized here.
He said that sports teach us discipline, determination. Sports competitions give players an opportunity to prove their skills and abilities. Also, we get information about each other’s feelings, affiliations, lifestyle, etc., which strengthens national unity.
Mr. Manohar Lal said that for the first time girls cadets also participated in these competitions which is an example of women empowerment. It also embodies the spirit of beti bachao-beti padao. In 2015, the Prime Minister gave the slogan of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao from Haryana itself. With the encouragement of the Prime Minister, daughters also started getting admission in Sainik schools three years ago. Today, girls in every region are flying the flags of highness. He hoped that the players will take inspiration from here.
The Chief Minister said that the government has developed sports culture to make Haryana a sports powerhouse. The best sports infrastructure has been prepared from the village to the state level. In Haryana, the slogan of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan as well as Jai Pahlwan has also been realized. He said that Haryana’s jawans, farmers and wrestlers are all three.
The Chief Minister said that in the 19th Echard Games organized in China recently, Haryana athletes have won 30 out of 107 medals, which is a matter of pride for the state of Haryana. He said that Haryana has become the hub of sports. Sportspersons have an inseparable connection with Haryana.
He said that military schools were established in the country in 1961. Since then NDA, IMA, OTA, IANA, AAFA and other reputed defense institutes have been making appreciable contribution in inducting cadets. Happily, Sainik schools are not only imparting good education along with army training but also ensuring all round development of students. Students educated from these schools have made a name for themselves in Indian Administrative Services, Judiciary, Medical, Engineering Services as well as politics.
Mr. Manohar Lal said that Haryana is known as the mine of soldiers. Every 10th army recruit is from Haryana. In the year 2008, the second Sainik School was opened in Rewari district. Soldiers are also going to open a school in Matanhel of Jhajjar. For this, 61 acres of land has been given in 2021. He told the players that they will take such experience from the soil here which will help them to reach heights in the future.
Meanwhile, Vijay Rana, principal of Sainik School Kunjpura welcomed with an address and highlighted the achievements of the school. He wished and congratulated the winning team players.
The Chief Minister awarded trophies to the first and second placed teams in basketball, volleyball and hockey. Apart from this, Ikhlaq Hasan of Nagrota Sainik School was honored in volleyball, Aman Malik of Kunjpura in basketball, Shubham Kumar of Tilaysa as the best player in hockey and Sachin of Tilaya as the best goalkeeper. They also awarded Trophies to Over Hall School, Sainik School Thilaya and Group D in Overall Group. Kunjpura Sainik School team awarded trophy for cultural programme. About 650 players from more than 30 military schools participated in the games. Before this, the participants march past.
