Chandigarh, December 6
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President Aman Arora and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema paid tribute to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his death anniversary.
On Friday, both AAP leaders offered floral tributes at the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in Nabha. On this occasion, Aman Arora said that Babasaheb Ambedkar, through the Constitution, gave fundamental rights and other legal entitlements to the people of this country. He highlighted that today, individuals from ordinary families have been able to rise to positions such as ministers, legislators, MPs, chief ministers, prime ministers, and other constitutional posts only because of the Constitution created by Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Arora accused the BJP-led Central Government of neglecting the Constitution and alleged that it is consistently attacking the rights to freedom granted to the people by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar through the Constitution. He warned that such actions are extremely dangerous for the country’s democratic system. Referring to the police brutality against farmers at Shambhu Border, he criticized the Haryana Government’s inhumane behavior toward farmers.
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema stated that Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar granted us the rights to equality and freedom through the Constitution. He particularly emphasized how Dr. Ambedkar gave economic, social, and political rights to the oppressed and downtrodden sections of society. By providing these constitutional rights to the Dalit community, Dr. Ambedkar elevated them socially and strengthened them economically. He added that all of us remain indebted to him for his monumental contributions.
