New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has got a big relief from the Supreme Court in the liquor scam case. The Supreme Court granted bail to Kejriwal on Friday. Kejriwal has challenged his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in one petition, while the second petition has been filed against the decision to deny him bail.
On July 12, the Supreme Court had ordered the release of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on interim bail in the money laundering case registered by the ED. Kejriwal was released on May 10 to campaign in the general elections for 21 days. He was released after spending 51 days in jail. However, it was even before their release. B. I. They were arrested. Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21. After 10 days of questioning, he was sent to Tihar Jail on April 1. The Supreme Court had already reserved its verdict on Kejriwal’s bail plea. The Supreme Court had allowed Kejriwal’s release till June 1. On June 2, Kejriwal surrendered in Tihar Jail.
