Dhaka, July 19 (Press ki taquat bureau): Bangladesh were taken off the air and telecommunication services were severely disrupted due to violent student protests against government job quotas, resulting in nearly two dozen fatalities throughout the week.
The death toll from Thursday’s clashes had reached 32, while Reuters initially reported 13 casualties, in addition to the six deaths earlier in the week, and was unable to confirm the higher figure at that time.
The situation escalated on Friday with renewed violence in certain regions of the country, prompting law enforcement to utilize tear gas to disperse the demonstrators, as observed by a Reuters photographer on the ground.
