New Delhi, February 7 (press ki taquat bureau):
The state government of Bihar has recently made a significant move to enhance the industry exposure of engineering students by introducing a paid internship scheme. This scheme is specifically designed for students pursuing a four-year undergraduate BTech course in state-run engineering colleges. Under this scheme, eligible students can apply for the internship and receive a one-time stipend of ₹ 10,000. It is important to note that this opportunity is available for students studying in the seventh semester. The decision to implement this paid internship scheme was made during a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. According to Additional Chief Secretary (Cabinet Secretariat) S Siddharth, the primary objective of this scheme is to provide students with practical experience and familiarize them with the working culture and various schemes of government departments. In order to enhance the employability of students, the government has placed a strong emphasis on fostering a closer relationship between academia and industry. To achieve this, educational institutions and the industry have been urged to collaborate and revamp the education system. To promote a comprehensive learning experience, authorities have implemented several measures including mandatory industry internships, facilitating the movement between work and study, and establishing a robust industry-academia connection. These initiatives aim to enable students to learn through practical experience, allowing them to acquire the necessary skills, knowledge, and values for future employment. By making internships compulsory, opportunities are created for both students and adult learners to develop employability skills.
