This injury was sustained during the second day of the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney, where he was unable to bowl in the second innings, contributing to Australia’s successful chase of 162 runs and their eventual six-wicket victory. Throughout the series, Bumrah had demonstrated exceptional form, claiming 32 wickets across five matches, but his injury has since sidelined him, preventing him from participating in India’s triumphant Champions Trophy campaign as well.
Bumrah is expected to be unavailable for the early matches of IPL 2025.
