The investigation into the NEET-UG paper leak case has been accelerated by the CBI. Two individuals, Manish Prakash and Ashutosh, have been arrested in Patna, Bihar in connection with the paper leak. Manish Prakash is believed to have transported students in his car, while Ashutosh provided accommodation for the candidates. This marks the first arrest made by the CBI in this case.

Following the arrest, the CBI questioned Manish Prakash and subsequently informed his wife about the arrest. Both accused were presented in court by the Central Investigation Agency. Additionally, the CBI has filed 6 FIRs related to this matter. The investigation into the NEET paper leak case in Latur, Maharashtra has also been handed over to the CBI. The Latur police have already arrested 2 individuals during their own investigation, while two other accused individuals named in the FIR are currently on the run. The police have recorded statements from 6 more people in relation to this case.

In Latur, the head teacher of the Zilla Parishad school, Jalil Pathan, who was arrested in connection with the paper leak, has been suspended. During the investigation, the police discovered not only NEET hall tickets but also hall tickets for Grade C and Grade B exams in the possession of the accused. It is suspected that the accused manipulated not only the NEET examination but also other state-conducted exams.
