New Delhi, On Tuesday, the Election Commission is set to reveal the timeline for the upcoming elections for the Delhi Legislative Assembly. They’ve scheduled a press conference at 2 PM to share all the details regarding the election schedule. With the current term of the 70-member Assembly concluding on February 23, it’s crucial that the elections take place beforehand to establish a new governing body. Historically, Delhi has conducted its Assembly elections in a single phase, and this year promises to be particularly intense. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is gearing up to defend its position against a determined challenge from the BJP, which is looking to make significant inroads. Meanwhile, the Congress party, which has struggled in recent elections, is expected to complicate matters further, leading to a competitive three-way contest in many constituencies. AAP has already put forward former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal as their leading candidate, while the BJP is currently facing some internal leadership challenges. Both the BJP and Congress have yet to finalize their candidate lists, whereas AAP has strategically taken the initiative by announcing its candidates and various election incentives well ahead of the polls.
