23-05-2023 (Press Ki Taquat)- The exchange of Rs 2000 notes has started from today. As soon as the banks opened, people started reaching the banks to exchange the Rs 2000 notes they had.
The Reserve Bank (RBI) has issued guidelines for exchange of notes. 2000 notes up to Rs 20,000 can be easily exchanged in banks at a time. Along with this, there is no limit for depositing Rs 2,000 notes in the bank account. But for this the deposit rules of the bank have to be followed.
RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has appealed to people not to panic about changing notes. People have more than 4 months time, they can easily exchange 2000 notes by visiting any branch. The Reserve Bank of India has decided to demonetize the Rs 2000 note under the ‘Clean Note Policy’. Under this policy, the RBI will gradually withdraw the 2000 notes from the market.
