chandigarh, 22 february (press ki taquat bureau): Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher has called for the registration of a murder case against those responsible for the death of a protesting farmer at the Khanauri border point of Punjab-Haryana. He has also urged the Punjab government to take action against the Haryana paramilitary force personnel for allegedly damaging 25-30 tractor-trolleys after entering Punjab’s territory. The incident occurred during clashes at Khanauri on the Punjab-Haryana border when some protesting farmers were attempting to reach the barricades.
Subhkaran Singh, a 21-year-old farmer from Bathinda district, lost his life at Khanauri on the Sangrur-Jind border. Pandher accused the Haryana security personnel of forcefully entering Punjab’s territory and using violence against the farmers at the Khanauri border point. He emphasized the need for the Punjab government to register a murder case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal also demanded that the Punjab government recognize Shubkaran as a martyr and take action against the Haryana security personnel for damaging tractor-trolleys in Punjab’s territory. In protest, the farmer leaders have called for the display of black flags on houses and vehicles.
