The ‘Dilli Chalo’ march was terminated on Friday following several instances of tear gas being deployed against the protesting farmers. This group, consisting of 101 farmers, had initiated their foot march towards the national capital from the Shambhu protest site. During the ensuing confrontations, at least seven farmers sustained injuries.
In addition to the clashes, numerous farmers were apprehended at Pari Chowk in Greater Noida as they began their march. The event resulted in significant traffic disruptions across various regions, necessitating a substantial presence of security forces to conduct checks at the borders and within central Delhi.
The situation underscored the tensions between the farmers and law enforcement, as the march aimed to draw attention to their grievances. The heavy security measures implemented were indicative of the authorities’ efforts to manage the protests and maintain order in the capital amidst rising unrest.
