Patiala, 18 April, (Press Ki Taquat Bureau) : Mohammad Kousha, Vice President of Global Growth & Languages at ETS inaugurated the TOEFL iBT test centre at Sophiya Consultants in Patiala today.
Sophiya Consultants brings over two decades of domain experience in testing and immigration, making them an invaluable test centre partner to ETS in providing seamless testing solutions. This association is a significant step in providing access to the TOEFL iBT authorised test site at Patiala.
ETS will also be setting up 7 new test centres in Punjab; in addition to Patiala the new centres will come up in Chandigarh, Bhatinda, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar. ETS is confident that these test centres will provide increased access to the TOEFL iBT tests and will benefit test takers in the Punjab region. This is the first test centre that is opening in Patiala.
Additionally, the TOEFL program recently announced several useful enhancements to the TOEFL iBT test to further improve the test experience. First and foremost, was the shortening the test to less than two hours. This has been achieved through streamlined instructions and navigation throughout the test; a shortened Reading section and the removal of all unscored test questions. The TOEFL test also introduced a new, more modern “Writing for an Academic Discussion” task, which replaces the previous independent Writing task.
The TOEFL test has also simplified the registration process, effective from July 2023. Test takers can now create an account and register for an available TOEFL iBT test date much quicker than ever before.
Furthermore, the TOEFL iBT test is increasing score transparency, as test takers will now be able to see their official score release date upon completion of the test, in addition to receiving real-time notification of changes to their score status. The TOEFL program is also introducing more localized benefits for test takers in India, such as additional local payment options, effective immediately. For the first time, test prices will be presented in their cart in INR, and test takers can pay using a global suite of credit cards, as well as locally issued debit and credit cards, digital wallets, and net banking. ETS also announced the opening of a dedicated customer service centre exclusively for Indian test takers, available from 8AM to 8PM (IST) 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. This will immensely benefit both TOEFL and GRE test takers. ETS through their new test site at Sophiya Consultants in Patiala will be able to provide an improved experience to test takers in the region, and help them to fulfil their overseas education dream.
