Chandigarh, 27-04-2023 (Press Ki Taquat)– To ensure transparency and accountability in the implementation of schemes and programs by the Government of Haryana, 10 services of Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare and Endowment (Service) Department. Social auditing of the schemes will be started. Other schemes like National Social Assistance Programme, 15th Finance Commission Grant and Swachh Bharat Mission will also be operationalized in the current financial year 2023-24.
Chief Secretary Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal gave this information after presiding over the second meeting of Haryana Society Governing Body for Social Audit of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) here today. He said that the Director Social Audit Unit PMY0G, 15th FCGS, MBAM, NASAP, Rurban Mission, Senior Citizen Homes, Retirement Centers, Pro-Matric and Post Matric Scholarships, PM-Ajay, Babu Jagjivan Ram Hostel, Residential Schools, Scheduled Castes, It will prepare an annual calendar for conducting social audit of various development schemes like Janjati Karja Yojana and cases related to violence.
In the meeting, it was decided to constitute a committee of three members headed by the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) at the district level to strengthen the Social Audit Unit. Its Block Development and Panchayat Officers and SDO Panchayati Raj will also be members. The committee will identify the village resource person to conduct the social audit. The Governing Body approved the proposal to increase the remuneration of Village Resource Person from Rs.500 to Rs.650 per working day inclusive of TA, DA.
Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development Anil Malik said that social audit of MNREGA scheme is being done in collaboration with community based organizations and other local NGOs to ensure social accountability and transparency. The Social Audit Unit has identified and trained 824 Gram resource persons from all 22 districts of Haryana. These include members of self help groups, social organizations and village groups.
Additional Chief Secretary Finance Anurag Rastogi, Deputy Accountant General Lakhwinder Singh Chahal, Chief Executive Officer Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission Dr. Amaninder Kaur, Director Rural Development Dr. Dr. Jayakishan Abhir, Additional Labor Commissioner. Anuradha Lamba, Director, Social Accounting Examination Unit, Ajay Sharma and Social Development Specialist Jaspreet Kaur participated in the meeting.
