Chandigarh, October 17 – The men’s and women’s netball teams left Rohtak today for the 37th National Games to be held in Goa from October 25 to November 9. Treasurer of Haryana Olympic Association and Haryana Incharge of National Games Mr. Manish Kumar Grover and other officials blessed the athletes and hoped that all the athletes will shine the name of Haryana Pradesh by performing their best.
Talking to the journalists Mr. Grover, the treasurer of the Olympic Association said that the result of the new sports policy made by the Haryana government is that today the youth of Haryana are winning the most medals at the international and national level. The Khelo India campaign launched by the central government has created a new atmosphere towards sports in the country. From increasing the cash prize money for the players to sports infrastructure in the state, continuous work is going on. Decisions like recruiting new coaches, building a new university have been taken by the state government. In the 36th National Games held in Gujarat in the year 2022, Haryana was ranked third in the country, but this time, the state’s athletes are expected to top the medal table by performing at their best.
He said that this time the players of the state will participate in 43 games. He said that in the traditional netball team Sachin, Sahil, Manish, Yashasvi, Mahesh, Manish Kumar, Vishant Dahiya, Manish, Ankur, Robin, Mayank, Jatin and in the Fast Five netball team Gaurav Dahiya, Sahil, Vishal, Yashasvi, Manish, Sumit, Siddharth, Nitesh Kaushik, Sachin, Mandeep will participate on behalf of Pradesh. Apart from these, Navdeep, Neha, Manisha, Madhu, Mahi, Soni, Neha, Payal, Khushi, Palak, Supriya, Shabnam in Traditional Netball Women’s Team and Madhu, Mahi, Soni, Khushi, Palak, Sujata in Fast Five Women’s Netball Team. Dimple, Shivani, Manisha, Sunaina will participate.
