Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced plans to establish a groundbreaking “centre of excellence” for differently-abled children and adults up to age 27 in Solan district. This state-of-the-art facility, located in Tikkari village of Kandaghat area, will cater to 300 students, providing them with quality education and comprehensive amenities, including playgrounds and residential accommodation.
Chief Minister Sukhu emphasised the state government’s commitment to completing the project within two years, with adequate funding assured. A 45-bigha government land plot has been allocated to the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment for this initiative. The Public Works Department (PWD) has been tasked with contour mapping, preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR), and initiating the tender process upon completion of the DPR.
