Dharamsala, March 9 (press ki taquat bureau): In a historic moment, Jimmy Anderson, the ageless wonder, became the first pace bowler in Test cricket history to reach the milestone of 700 wickets. However, India managed to end their first innings on a commendable total of 477 runs, taking a significant lead of 259 runs.
Kuldeep Yadav became Anderson’s 700th victim, and India’s innings came to an end within 20 minutes of the start of play. Shoaib Bashir, the off-spinner, played a crucial role by taking five wickets for 173 runs in 46.1 overs to wrap up the Indian innings. Prior to that, impressive performances from Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, and debutant Devdutt Padikkal ensured India’s commanding lead in the first innings.
