Chandigarh, October 04 (Press Ki Taquat)– The Union Ministry of Animal Husbandry and Dairying has invited online nominations for the National Gopal Ratna Award. Interested cattle farmers can send online applications till October 15. These awards will be presented on the occasion of National Milk Day on 26th November.
Giving detailed information in this regard, a government spokesperson said that the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying is making tireless efforts for the effective development of the animal husbandry and dairy sector, so that farmers can be provided sustainable livelihood. Could. India’s indigenous cattle breeds are very good and have the genetic potential to play an important role in the national economy. Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) was launched for the first time in the country in December 2014 with the objective of scientifically conserving and developing indigenous bovine breeds.
He informed that under the RGM, with the objective of incentivizing milk producing farmers, dairy cooperative societies/FPOs and Artificial Insemination Technicians (AITs), the Department will also confer National Gopal Ratna Awards in the following three categories during 2023. This includes the best dairy farmers rearing registered indigenous cattle, Murrah buffalo breeds, best Dairy Cooperative Society (DCS)/Milk Producer Company (MPC)/Dairy Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) and best Artificial Insemination Technician (AIT).
He informed that the National Gopal Ratna Award 2023 consists of a certificate of merit, a memento and a cash prize for the first two categories i.e. Best Dairy Farmer and Best DCS/FPO/MPC as follows. In which Rs 5 lakh will be given for first place, Rs 3 lakh for second place and Rs 2 lakh for third place. In the case of Best Artificial Insemination Technician (AIT) category, the award for all three categories consists only of a merit certificate and a memento.
