At 26 years of age, Chopra found himself in fourth position until the fourth round, where he managed to launch his javelin to a distance of 85.58 meters in his fifth attempt. Demonstrating his competitive spirit, he delivered his best performance in the sixth and final round, achieving a throw that surpassed his previous efforts at the Paris Olympics.
His fifth-round throw of 85.58 meters was crucial, as it allowed him to qualify for the final attempt, given that only the top three competitors after five rounds are granted an additional throw.
