On the arrival of New Year 2024, celebrations were held in various cities of Australia. More than 85,000 people watched the fireworks in the South Bank area of Brisbane, Queensland. Similarly, from the north of Cairns to the city of Gold Coast, fireworks were set off at more than 105 places throughout the night. Crowds of spectators gathered near Sydney’s Opera House to watch the fireworks. In the capital Canberra, thousands of people gathered around Lake Burley Griffin to ring in the New Year. Hobart also saw huge crowds flock to the waterfront for the summer festival. People flock to Alder Park near the CBD to ring in the New Year in Adelaide. For the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic, the Torrens/Carrawira Parry riverside fireworks display took place.
