Samana/Patiala, 29-05-2023 (Press Ki Taquat)-The young soldiers of Randhawa village of Samana Constituency and young soldiers of Indian Army were martyred in the course of their duty while protecting the unity and integrity of the country on the border of China in Arunachal Pradesh. On the occasion of the last cremation of Sahajapal Singh (27 years old), the entire village and area was painted in the color of patriotism. Everyone who participated in the family’s time of sorrow bid farewell to the martyr with emotional eyes.
Martyr’s parents Amarjit Singh-Paramjit Kaur and brother soldier Amritpal Singh saluted Shaheed Sahajpal Singh. After being brought back from Arunachal Pradesh, the dead body of the martyred jawan was brought to Randhawa village in a large convoy. The family paid tribute to the martyr’s head with tearful eyes and after that the pyre of young Sahajapal Singh was set ablaze with full military honors and religious rites.
On behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, State Defense Services Welfare Minister Chetan Singh Jaudamajra placed a wreath on the martyr’s body and offered flowers on behalf of Shaheed Sahajapal Singh’s last cremation. Chetan Singh Jaudamajra expressed his grief with the martyr’s family and said that in this hour of grief, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, himself and the Punjab government stand with the bereaved family and the government has provided all possible assistance as honor and respect to the martyr. will go
The bugler of the Indian Army played a mournful tune and the soldiers saluted the martyr by throwing down their arms and giving a guard of honour. Captain Sanjeev Nag of Patiala Military Station and 20 Naib Subedar Ranjit Singh from Punjab saluted the martyr’s parents by handing over the tricolor flag draped over the martyr’s body.
Meanwhile, Captain Sanjiv Nag and other officers from Patiala station paid tribute by placing a wreath on behalf of the Indian Army. While Lok Sabha member Praneet Kaur, former ministers Harmel Singh Tohra and Surjit Singh Rakhra, Gurdev Singh Tiwana and Surjit Singh Fauji also laid wreaths. It is worth mentioning that young man Sahajapal Singh, born on 15 March 1996 to father Amarjit Singh and mother Paramjit Kaur, joined the Indian Army on 22 December 2015. After completing his training, he joined 20 Punjab Regiment. At this time his posting was at the China border near Kibithu village in Arunachal Pradesh and he was patrolling with his comrades at the China border in the past, where he was martyred.
The villagers including the martyr’s father Amarjit Singh, mother Paramjit Kaur and brother Amritpal Singh who is serving in 17 Punjab Regiment said that they are proud of the martyrdom of Shaheed Sahajpal Singh. He said that more than a dozen youths of the village have joined the Indian Army due to the inspiration of Sahajapal.
During the cremation of the martyr, the important personalities present from the political, social, religious organizations including the Indian Army, Punjab Government, District Patiala Civil and Police Administration and thousands of ordinary people gathered to the martyr shouting ‘Shaheed Sahajpal Singh Amar Rahe’.
