A statement from the National Security Council indicated that any threats to Pakistan’s sovereignty would be met with strong retaliatory actions across various domains. Additionally, Islamabad has suspended visas for Indians under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme, with the exception of Sikh pilgrims, and has requested military advisers at the Indian High Commission to depart by April 30. The statement further warned that any attempt to divert water allocated to Pakistan under the Indus Water Treaty would be regarded as an act of war.
