Both Papua New Guinea and Fiji have honored Prime Minister Modi with their country’s highest honour. Fiji has honored Prime Minister Modi with the ‘Companion of the Order of Fiji’, while the host country Papua New Guinea has honored PM Modi with its highest honour, ‘The Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu’.
PM Modi has arrived in Papua New Guinea directly from Japan. He attended the third Indo-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) summit there today. Co-chairing the conference with Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape, Prime Minister Modi said he (James Marape) could see India as a reliable partner.
Addressing Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marpe, Prime Minister Modi said, ‘India is proud to be your development partner.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had reached Japan. Here he attended the G-7 Summit. He had said that the role of cooperation between G-7 and G-20 countries is important in dealing with global challenges.
