Chandigarh, Zirakpur, Kharar, and Mohali experienced a hailstorm as heavy rain poured down on various parts of Punjab and Haryana. Despite the rainfall, the minimum temperatures remained higher than usual for this time of year. Notable areas such as Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Patiala, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Faridkot, and Mohali in Punjab, as well as Ambala, Hisar, Karnal, Rohtak, and Bhiwani in Haryana, were all affected by the rain, as reported by the Meteorological Department.Amritsar, one of the cities in Punjab, experienced a minimum temperature of 9.3 degrees Celsius, which is four notches higher than the average temperature for this season. Similarly, both Ludhiana and Patiala also had a minimum temperature of 12.4 degrees Celsius each. Moving on to other cities in Punjab, Pathankot had a minimum temperature of 10.4 degrees Celsius, Bathinda recorded 11.2 degrees Celsius, Gurdaspur experienced 10.3 degrees Celsius, and Faridkot had a minimum temperature of 10.2 degrees Celsius.
Ambala and Hisar, located in the state of Haryana, experienced slightly higher minimum temperatures than usual. Ambala recorded a minimum temperature of 11.8 degrees Celsius, while Hisar recorded a slightly lower minimum temperature of 11.2 degrees Celsius. Both cities observed temperatures that were up to four degrees above the normal range for this time of year.Chandigarh, the capital city of both Punjab and Haryana, also witnessed a higher minimum temperature than expected. The temperature in Chandigarh dropped to 12.5 degrees Celsius, which was three notches above the normal range. This deviation from the average temperature indicates a slightly warmer weather pattern in the region.
