Giving this related information, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni said that Rs 6 crore 28 lakh 32 thousand has been released in Patiala district under the Ashirwad scheme, in which Rs 2 crore 85 lakh has been released for the beneficiaries of scheduled castes, in which Rs. 559 beneficiaries of the district will get the benefit. Similarly, Rs 3 crore 43 lakh 23 thousand has been released for the beneficiaries belonging to backward classes and economically weaker sections, in which 673 beneficiaries of the district will be covered.
He said that under the Aashirwad scheme, girls from Scheduled Castes/Christian communities, widows of any caste, girls from backward classes and economically backward families at the time of marriage and widows/divorced women of Scheduled Castes at the time of their remarriage.
