The region of Punjab is known for its unique geographical features, and it is in this very land that a significant weather phenomenon takes place. Starting from the 27th of June, the monsoon rains grace the region, bringing relief from the scorching heat. The Meteorological Department had predicted sporadic outbreaks of rain on this particular day, and their forecast turned out to be accurate. The rainfall pattern continues to maintain its presence on the 28th and 29th of June, countering the dry spell that had persisted since the beginning of the month.
Today, on the 27th of June, light showers were observed in certain areas of Punjab, providing a respite from the dry weather. The weather forecast indicates that there will be more substantial rainfall on the 28th and 29th of June, which will help answer the prayers of many farmers and residents who have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of monsoon. In Chandigarh, the capital city, there is a noticeable change in the atmosphere with the presence of gusty winds and occasional thunderstorms from the 27th to the 29th of June.
The state’s weather department has issued an alert for eight districts today, including Gurugram, Garh, Charkhi Dadri, Bhavani, Rewari, Jhar, Marg, and Hisar. These districts will experience significant weather changes, and precautions need to be taken accordingly. Additionally, certain areas such as Jind, Safidon, Barwala, Shumhai, Narnaund, Bhiwani, Bawanikhera, Rajond, Mahim, Lakhanmajra, Kalnoor, Kosli, Charkhi, and Jhajjar will also witness rainfall today. On the other hand, a heatwave alert has been issued in 13 districts of Punjab, including Reform, Search, Tarn Taran, Firopur, Faldkot, Muktsar Fazilka, North Right, Right, Mansa, Ludhiana, and People. The temperature is expected to decrease from the 27th of June onwards, providing some relief to the public.
