MINISTER OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT REVIEWS DEVELOPMENT WORKS IN VARIOUS DISTRICTS OF STATE
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SPEEDY COMPLETION OF DEVELOPMENT WORKS

The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to continuously striving to provide basic facilities and a clean, pollution-free environment to the state’s residents. To achieve this objective, Local Government Minister Balkar Singh stated that there will be no shortage of funds for ongoing development works across the state.
During a review meeting held today in Sector 35 Chandigarh to assess the progress of development works in various districts, the Minister for Local Government, S. Balkar Singh, examined the ongoing development works in districts including Barnala, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Tarn Taran, Amritsar, Bathinda, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Ferozepur, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Fatehgarh Sahib, and S.A.S Nagar. He instructed officials that these development projects should be expedited.
Providing information on this matter, S. Balkar Singh stated that discussions were held in detail about the projects of Municipal Council/Nagar Panchyats including Handiyaya, Bariwala, Khemkaran, Tarn Taran, Baba Bakala Sahib, Raja Sansi, Rampura Phool, Talwandi Sabo, Dera Baba Nanak, Narot Jaimal Singh, Makhu, Mallanwala Khas, Machhiwara, Malaudh, Sahnewal, Mullapur Dakha, Bhikhi, and Sardulgarh, Bagha Purana, Gharuan and Amloh under Amrut, Swachh Bharat Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission-2, Urban Environment Improvement Program-3, and new grant-aided development projects. He instructed officials to complete these tasks.
He urged the EO’S and Sewerage Board’s Officers to collaborate with the district administration to identify suitable sites for sewerage treatment plants and water treatment plants. Additionally, he emphasized that ongoing projects related to sewerage treatment plants and water treatment plants should be swiftly finished.
Cabinet Minister emphasized to the officials of Municipal Councils/Nagar Panchayats that if they require machinery for maintaining cleanliness in their areas, procurement should be prioritized. He assured that the government has ample funds for development works to ensure basic facilities and a clean, pollution-free environment for the state’s residents.
S Balkar Singh instructed the Executive Officers and Executive Engineers of the Sewerage Board to share all design-related information of new projects with the respective Constituency MLA. This approach aims to address the local people’s concerns and execute development works accordingly.
He directed officials that the government is dedicated to providing a corruption-free administration to the state’s people. Hence, anyone involved in corruption will not be spared.
On this Occassion, Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board Chairman Mr. Sunny Ahluwalia, MLAs of respective constituencies, representatives of MLAs, Secretary of Local Government Department Mr Ajoy Sharma, Director of the Local Government Department Mr Uma Shankar Gupta, CEO OF PMIDC Mr Sanyam Aggarwal and concerned Additional Deputy Commissioner(UD), all Chief Engineers of Head Office and EO’S of Concern Municipal Council/Nagar Panchyats and other officers of Department were present.
