Patiala, 03-04-2023 (Press Ki Taquat)-Punjab’s first common toilet (all gender) has been constructed for women, men and third genders at Dilwal village adjacent to Patiala. Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni said that this common toilet has been prepared by the rural development and panchayat, water supply and sanitation departments with the support of gram panchayat at a cost of three lakh rupees.
The Deputy Commissioner said that this common toilet has been built as an experiment and later it will be built in other villages as well. He said that the toilets are common for men and women, but in our society it is difficult for the citizens of the third gender to use the women’s or men’s toilets, so as an experiment, this shared toilet was built near Patiala city. The village is built at Dilwal.
Sakshi Sahni said that ADC. (Rural Development) Under the supervision of Isha Singhal, the work of this common toilet has been completed so that it can be used for the convenience of the citizens living in this village or nearby areas. He said that this common toilet is the first such common toilet (all gender) in Punjab, which has been built in a rural area.
