Chandigarh, November 27:
Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan, on Monday expressed deep grief over the sad demise of S. Balwant Singh Khera.
In a press communique issued here, the Speaker stated that S. Balwant Singh Khera was a prominent socialist leader, educationist and a pioneer of teacher agitations. He said that S. Khera was the founder of the Malta incident Investigation Mission, made many fruitful efforts to establish the facts and sequence of the incident and helped the victims. He said that S. Khera started his career as a teacher and took early retirement to start social service. He was also filed more than 100 Public Interest Litigations (PILs).
The Speaker prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
