Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been granted parole once again. This time, Ram Rahim has been granted a parole of 50 days. This marks the ninth time in the past four years that Ram Rahim has been granted parole. He is currently serving his sentence in Rohtak’s Sunaria jail. Whenever the Dera chief is granted parole, it becomes a matter of controversy for the Haryana government. Ram Rahim’s parole has also become a topic of discussion in the upcoming Haryana Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha elections this year.
It is worth mentioning that in 2017, Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the rape of two female disciples. In 2019, he was sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of the murder of his former employee, Ranjit Singh. Apart from this, in 2021, Ram Rahim was sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of a journalist’s murder.
