As per the directions of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar and under the able guidance of Ms Rupinderjit Chahal, Ld. District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, a campaign “Punjab against Drug Addiction- A Legal Services Initiative” in District Patiala is in progress which was started on 1.10.2023.

          Under this campaign, rallies and awareness programmes were organized in collaboration with District Administration by the students of Legal Literacy Clubs Government Senior Secondary School, Bahadurgarh, Maghar Sahib, Government High Schools Factory Area, Patiala, Sanauri Gate, Patiala and Public College, Samana for making the people aware about the bad affects of drugs on mind and body of human being. Students were making people aware by self made posters showing bad affects of drug addiction on human mind and body.

            In addition to that, Legal Awareness programmes were also organized by District Legal Services Authority, Patiala at Bir Drug D-Addiction Center,Nabha, Government Senior Secondary School Maghar Sahib  and Government Senior Secondary School, Kauli, Patiala. During these programmes, audience was made aware by Ms Manni Arora CJM, Sh. Sandip Kumar, Panel Advocate and Sh. Harjinder Singh, Panel advocate about NALSA( Legal Services to the Victims of Drug Abuse and Eradication of Drug Menace) Scheme, 2015, free legal services and about the bad effects of drugs on health, social and economic aspects of human being as well.

       Ms Manni Arora also told that this campaign will last for one month i.e. 1.10.2023 to 31.10.2023. She further told that a needy person who wants to avail free legal aid can contact the front office at ADR Center, District Courts complex, Patiala personally  or on phone number 0175-2306500.
