GOVT TO CUT DOWN ALL UNNECESSARY DOCUMENTATION & REDUCE NUMBER OF TRIPS TO SEWA KENDRAS, SAYS GOVERNANCE REFORMS MINISTER

Adopting an approach of zero pendency in service delivery in the state, Punjab has been able to bring the service pendency at Sewa Kendras at the lowest level in past five years.
Revealing this here today, Punjab Governance Reforms and Grievances Minister Mr Aman Arora said that the pendency has just touched 0.10%, which means 99.90% of applications are processed within prescribed timeline.
He was chairing a meeting of all Deputy Commissioners via video conference to review citizen service delivery provided through Sewa Kendras. The Cabinet Minister also reviewed the launch a pilot project of door-step delivery of citizen services in the state.
Mr Aman Arora also asked all the DCs to personally monitor each and every line department at the district level to ensure that all the applications are being processed within timelines.
The state Government is striving to cut down all unnecessary documentation and reduce number of trips to Sewa Kendras by common man, he said while adding that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government has not been leaving any stone unturned to ensure seamless services delivery to citizens in transparent manner.
The Cabinet Minister appreciated all the Deputy Commissioners & officials of department of Governance Reforms for bringing down the pendency at the as lowest as 0.10%.
During the meeting, many suggestions with respect to the improvement in the service delivery including digitisation of offline services, merging of various certificates, document disposal policy, process to deal long pending objection cases, introduction of Aadhaar based e-KYC etc. were also discussed. The Cabinet Minister directed department of Governance Reforms to analyse all the suggestions given by DCs and take immediate actions.
While reviewing various software projects being under taken by the software cell of Department of Governance Reforms, Mr. Aman Arora also interacted with all team members of software cell.
Director Governance Reforms Mr Girish Dayalan, Senior System Manager Mr Sumit Garg, General Manager (Technical) Mr Vinesh Gautam and other officials were also present in the meeting.
