It has snowed in the high hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh today. However, the Meteorological Department has predicted dry weather in the state from tomorrow. Snow fell near Atal tunnel near Manali today. Apart from this, snow has also fallen in Keylong (Lahaul-Spiti). Lahaul Spiti region was the coldest with a minimum temperature of minus 0.1 degree Celsius. The weather department said that a western disturbance is affecting the state since Friday night. He said that snow and rain may occur at different places in Himachal, but the weather will remain dry from 24th. He denied the possibility of snow in Shimla on Christmas. The department said that in view of the Western Disturbance, light to moderate rain may occur in Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur, Shimla and Sirmaur. Cold weather continued in Punjab and Haryana. Bathinda remained the coldest today with a minimum temperature of six degrees. Similarly, the minimum temperature of Ludhiana was recorded at 9.2, Patiala at 8.6 and Amritsar at 11 degrees. While the minimum temperature of Pathankot was 12.9, Gurdaspur 6.5 and Faridkot 10.5 degrees. Haryana’s Karnal recorded a minimum temperature of 8.7 degrees while Fatehabad recorded 6 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature of Chandigarh was 10.3 degrees Celsius.
