Supreme Court gives extension to ED Director SK Mishra till September 15
The Supreme Court of India permitted SK Mishra to continue as Enforcement Directorate (ED) Director till September 15. SC has clarified that no further extension will be given in the matter. SC today (July 27) began hearing on the Centre’s plea seeking an extension of the ED director’s tenure in view of the ongoing Financial Action Task Force (FATF) review.On Wednesday (July 26), the Centre urged the Supreme Court to extend the tenure of Enforcement Directorate Director Sanjay Kumar Mishra till October 15, in view of the ongoing Financial Action Task Force (FATF) review.The Centre, in its plea to the Supreme Court, said that it may be permitted to extend the tenure of ED Director Sanjay Kumar Mishra in view of the ongoing FATF Review, which is at a critical stage where submissions on effectiveness have been made on July 21, 2023, and an on-site visit is scheduled to be conducted in November 2023.”Is the entire department full of incompetent people,” said Supreme Court earlier over the government seeking an extension in ED Director SK Mishra’s tenure.
