February 14 (press ki taquat bureau): The protest by farmers at the Shambhu border entered its second day on Wednesday, with reports of tear gas shells being used by the police. Farmer leaders are planning to hold a meeting to determine their next steps.
The number of tractor trolleys participating in the protest has increased, with over 200 joining on Wednesday morning. The convoy of tractor trolleys parked along the highway now spans over 4 km. The farmers remain determined to continue their protest until they reach Delhi, crossing into Haryana.
In response to the situation, makeshift hospitals have been set up at the site, and the Punjab government has alerted nearby government hospitals and community health centers. Health Minister Balbir Singh is scheduled to visit the injured farmers in Rajpura.
