February 13 (press ki taquat bureau): The Haryana Police deployed tear gas shells at the Shambhu border in Ambala in response to a group of youth participating in the farmers’ ‘Dilli Chalo’ protest march attempting to break barricades. Despite the police’s appeal to avoid the barricades, some of the youth persisted and stood their ground. As a result, the police fired tear gas shells when a few individuals broke an iron barricade and tried to remove it from the Ghaggar river bridge. In addition, the police utilized a drone to drop a tear gas shell. The farmers initiated their ‘Delhi Chalo’ march in the morning to demand various reforms, such as a legal guarantee for minimum support prices (MSP) for crops, after an inconclusive meeting with two Union ministers.
Many farmers, accompanied by tractor trolleys, began their march from Fatehgarh Sahib towards Delhi via the Shambhu border at approximately 10 am. Alongside them, another group is heading towards the national capital from Mehal Kalan in Sangrur through the Khanauri border.
