A truly alarming incident of negligence has come to light at Bhagwan Das Khetan Hospital, the largest government hospital in the city. In a shocking turn of events, doctors mistakenly performed a post-mortem on a man who was very much alive, believing him to be deceased. After this grave error, he was placed in a deep freezer within the hospital’s mortuary. The situation took a bizarre twist when members of a local organization arrived to take the man for cremation. As they were preparing him for the pyre, he unexpectedly started to breathe again. This man, who had been wrongly declared dead, is now receiving care in the ICU of the same hospital, and thankfully, his condition is reported to be stable. In response to this incident, the district collector has set up a committee to investigate what went wrong. The individual at the center of this case, Rohitash, a 47-year-old man with mental challenges residing at the Ma Sevva Sansthan shelter home, had fallen ill on Thursday afternoon. He was initially treated in the emergency department of BD Khetan Hospital in Jhunjhunu, where, around 1:30 pm, he was shockingly declared dead. Following this declaration, he was placed in the hospital’s mortuary deep freezer, and a post-mortem was conducted two hours later, along with the preparation of a panchnama.
