Chandigarh, May 3 (Press ki taquat bureau): The CI Amritsar successfully conducted an intelligence-led operation targeting trans-border narcotic smuggling networks, resulting in the apprehension of an individual and the seizure of 4 kg of Ice (methamphetamine) and 1 kg of heroin.
Drones were utilized by the Pakistan-based drug smuggler to transport the illegal substances across borders, highlighting the sophisticated methods employed by these criminal networks.
Following the operation, an FIR under the NDPS Act has been filed at SSOC, Amritsar, indicating the legal actions being taken against those involved in drug trafficking.
Investigations are currently underway to establish both backward and forward linkages, shedding light on the intricate web of connections within these illicit activities. The Punjab DGP made the announcement regarding this significant operation, showcasing the commitment of law enforcement agencies in combating drug smuggling and related crimes.
