The “Dilli Chalo” program organized by the United Farmers’ Front (non-political) and the Farmers-Labor Front on February 13 to address the demands of farmers and other issues has led to the sealing of all borders with Punjab by the Haryana police. The Haryana police have blocked the major national highway connecting Delhi to Chandigarh by placing large stones and barricades on the route, completely shutting down the road and causing a complete halt in the cities near the border. Despite the efforts of the police to divert people through alternative routes, many people are still facing long hours of inconvenience. Mamta Singh, the ADGP (Law and Order) of the Haryana police, stated that the roads have been blocked due to the farmers’ program. She mentioned that the closure of the National Highway-44, Delhi-Chandigarh Highway, has caused a complete shutdown.
