Munawwar-un-Nisha, the fourth and last Begum of the late Iftakhar Ali Khan, the last Nawab of Malerkotla, the only Muslim princely state in the emerging Punjab, is from the 14th generation of Sher Muhammad Khan, the then Nawab of Malerkotla, the younger Sahibzadas of Sri Guru Gobind Singh. I agreed yes. (103) died at the local Hazrat Halima Hospital at 5 am today after being ill for a few days. He was cremated with official honors in the local royal tombs. Mufti-e-Azam Punjab Iratka-ul-Hassan Kandhalvi performed the ritual of reading the funeral prayer of Begum. Begum Munawwar-un-Nisha was saluted at the local royal tombs by a contingent of Punjab Police and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Pallavi, SDM Harbans Singh and DSP Kuldeep Singh offered floral tributes.

On behalf of Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee, Fatehgarh Sahib manager Gurdeep Singh Kang and Chief Granthi Bhai Ajmer Singh covered the mortal remains of Begum with a shawl. On this occasion, MLA Dr. Many political and religious leaders were present, including Jamil-ur-Rehman, MLA Jaswant Singh Ghajnan Majra, Begum’s nephew Aziz-ul-Haq of Tank (Rajasthan) and Maharani Nabha Preeti Singh. It is noteworthy that the last Nawab of Malerkotla princely state, late Iftakhar Ali Khan, was married to Munawwar-un-Nisha, daughter of the then Nawab Ibrahim Ali Khan of Tank princely state of Rajasthan in 1948. Late Nawab Iftakhar Ali Khan had married four times. His first three Begums, Shakira-un-Nisha, Yusuf Zaman and Sajida Begum, had passed away long ago. Nawab Iftakhar Ali Khan did not have any children from his four marriages and died on 20 November 1982.
